Within the On-demand Mobility focus area, we aim to:

Support mobility business owners to better operate their fleet.
We are looking for innovative technologies in the areas of inclusive mobility (wheelchair accessible vehicle), passenger experience, dispatch optimization, route optimization, charging cost optimization, and customer-facing app.
Inclusive Mobility (WAV, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle)

Facilitate mobility journey for passengers on wheelchairs by providing utility such as ramp, kneeling system, wheelchair-adjustable layout, etc.

Modify vehicle for wheelchair usage based on related policies and laws, while maintaining competitive advantage over existing solutions in terms of price and comfort.
Passenger Experience

Offer ride hailing customers the option to change in-vehicle environment (A/C, lighting, etc.) based on smartphone app to provide personalized experience in shared mobility.

Customer’s control should not breach stability and safety of vehicle.
Dispatch Optimization

Receive real-time information (e.g. congestion on the road, weather, customer demand) related to on-demand mobility operation in order to come up with the optimal (e.g. the most profitable) dispatch schedule for the fleet, hence improving fleet’s performance.

Ensure robustness of the service provision (e.g. quickly replace broken vehicle with alternative options nearby), while maintaining lightness of the software and cheap operation/transition cost.
Route Optimization

Receive real-time information (e.g. congestion on the road, weather, customer demand) related to on-demand mobility fleet operation in order to come up with the optimal (e.g. the most profitable) dispatch schedule for the fleet, hence improving responsiveness & performance.

Enhance customer satisfaction (e.g. quicker routes, routes conforming to customer’s preference), while maintaining lightness of the software and cheap operation/transition cost.
Charging Cost Optimization

Minimizes total charging cost of fleet while maximizing vehicle utilization based on systematic charging scheduling subject to various constraints (e.g. differing charging cost per time of day).

Possible association with V2L / V2G business based on bi-directional energy transfer/sales. (e.g. selling electricity in the idle EV to the grid during the peak time)
Customer Facing Mobility Reservation App

Streamline vehicle rental process by providing customer-centric features, such as inventory availability, vehicle status monitoring, payment, quick checkout/return process.

Integration with existing dealership inventory system should be considered.

Facilitate the customer journey based on smartphone app, while maintaining software ease of use and lower operational costs.
